Greetings from Roger & Yolanda Leyton

The Lord has been so good to us! We are grateful for all of His blessings (Psalm 103). This past month we enjoyed having our eldest daughter and her husband, Pastors Jorge & Yolanda Lorenzana, as well as dear friends and fellow laborers in Christ, Rafael & Migdalia, and Walter Umanzor all from Casa de Oracion Para Todas Las Naciones (House of Prayer for al Nations) Church in Arlington, Texas. For them, the trip was fruitful in establishing immediate training opportunities in Nicaragua for the School of the Prophets. The apostolic council under my leadership, decided after hearing Prophet Jorge Lorenzana’s introduction and presentation that in the last week of August will convene a gathering of leaders to begin the School. Pastors and laymen will be equipped to correctly and accurately interpret the Scriptures of the Prophets about the Messiah of Israel in His Hebraic context. This will help them to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of God in this age and the one to come. For Nicaragua and the nations, this is an important aspect of the “Restoration of all Things”. They will also partner with Maranatha Christian Mission for the Joseph Project, helping national and spiritual leaders prepare for humanitarian aid and food storage in the event of a national or world-wide crisis. For us, it was a time of encouragement and fellowship and an outright gift from God!"

As I mentioned last month, Maranatha Christian Mission has been blessed with a brand new, shiny red tractor!  Yolanda and I have been praying for this tractor for the past few years as we believe it is important for the ministry of MCM to work agriculturally towards being self-sufficient and to reach out to the small, impoverished community of San Joaquin by offering tractor services to those who own land but struggle to produce enough to support themselves without modern farming equipment.  In addition to the tractor, we were also able to purchase a disc harrow, seed planter, and the materials to build a storage bodega/shed to protect these implements from the weather.  With this tractor, we will also be able to improve and maintain the road to the farm, which will be a blessing for us as well as the entire community.  We would like to thank the LORD for all who gave to make this portion of the vision a reality--and we would like to thank YOU for your obedience & generosity! Children's ministry continues every Sunday morning at the farm; depending on the weather, we have between 15 to 25 children and young teens each week.  Tania (seated in the middle of this group) and Noelia lead the children in worship, teach a short Bible lesson, and assist the kids with a craft or re-enactment of the story. Tania's father, my dear friend and pastor, Efijenio is teaching the teens, plus our two young couples who live on the farm and work for us. It is a small beginning, but we are excited about what God will do with it.   
Pray with us about what God would have us do concerning the education and life-skills training of these precious young people! Their future weighs heavily upon our hearts, as the little community of San Joaquin only offers primary school to the 6th grade. While there are secondary schools in Nindirí and Guanacastillo they are simply too far away, even for a bike ride.  This is a typical problem for children living in rural areas. We need wisdom, direction, and provision to improve this sad situation, whether to provide transportation to school or to provide a school.  Pray that we will hear clearly, and obey!

This coming month, we have three separate ministry events scheduled!  Guest minister Pastor Raymond from Guatemala will be ministering to pastors in Rivas and León; Mr. Festus and my son Marvin will minister in 3 locations: Carazo, León, and Managua; and the following week, my son-in-law Pastor Jorge Lorenzana will also be returning to Carazo to start the first School of the Prophets.  So, you can see that our ministry to pastors and spiritual leaders continues.  I have also been privileged to continue praying with several presidential candidates who are running in this year's election.  It is my ultimate desire to see my nation consecrated to God and led by those who fear Him and will rule with justice and integrity; therefore, please continue to pray for us as we minister to both pastors and politicians!  


Finally, things continue to grow and expand at La Finca: Regalo de Dios.  We have planted 100 more avocado trees, several different types of squash, bell peppers, and tomatoes.  We have leased the land that we are not able to plant or maintain this season, in order to be wise stewards of all we have. And with the help of your generous donations, MCM now has the following:

• A new tractor plus implements for plowing and planting 
• More secure fencing has been erected around the entire property and infrastructure. 
• Private sleeping quarters were added to the guardhouse for our extra man. 
• We have a new rancho for ministry meetings. 
• The ‘escuelita’ was enclosed for the temporary use of our volunteer staff members, Greg & Jenny Shults; however, it will be a great multi-purpose building for MCM’s future needs. 
• Materials have also been purchased for a warehouse to properly store the tractor & implements. 

Concerning our immediate needs, please continue to pray for an increase in our finances and support! We believe the Lord has called us to change this nation for God, to win this nation for the Kingdom of Heaven, and to see individual lives and communities changed!  Please pray about partnering with us on a monthly basis and being a part of what God wants to do in Nicaragua!
